Arsenal U21s suffered a disappointing 5-3 defeat to Aston Villa U21s in Premier League 2 on Monday evening.
The Gunners took an early lead through Charlie Patino, but Villa hit back with five goals in the space of 20 minutes to take control of the match.
Arsenal pulled two goals back through Folarin Balogun and Omari Hutchinson, but it was not enough to prevent them from slipping to a third defeat of the season.
The result leaves Arsenal in seventh place in the Premier League 2 table, while Villa move up to fourth.
In other news, Bournemouth continued their poor run against sides starting the day top of the table with an 11th consecutive defeat, this time going down 3-0 to Arsenal.
