Broncos QB-Needy Broncos Could Be the Team to Turn 2024 NFL Draft on Its Head

Broncos Legend Took an Unnecessary Shot at Russell Wilson

Broncos GM Says Team Likes 7-8 QBs in NFL Draft Amid JJ Watt Retirement Announcement

With the 2024 NFL Draft just over a month away and pro days in full swing, the Broncos are inching closer to what could be a franchise-altering event.

After a disappointing 5-12 season in 2023, the Broncos hold the No. 5 overall pick in this year's draft, and they are widely expected to use it on a quarterback.

The Broncos have been linked to several top quarterback prospects, including Alabama's Bryce Young, Ohio State's C.J. Stroud, and North Carolina's Drake Maye. However, they could also trade up to select one of the top two quarterbacks in the draft, Kentucky's Will Levis or Florida's Anthony Richardson.

No matter who they select, the Broncos are hoping that their new quarterback can help them turn things around after a disastrous 2023 season that saw them finish with the worst record in the AFC West.

In other Broncos news, former Broncos legend Shannon Sharpe took an unnecessary shot at quarterback Russell Wilson on Tuesday.

Sharpe, who is now an analyst for Fox Sports, said that Wilson "can't make a play when it matters" and that he "doesn't have the 'it' factor."

Wilson, who is entering his second season with the Broncos, has been criticized for his performance in 2023. He threw for just 3,524 yards and 16 touchdowns with 11 interceptions in 15 games.

Meanwhile, Broncos general manager George Paton said on Tuesday that the team likes "seven or eight" quarterbacks in this year's draft.

Paton's comments come amid speculation that the Broncos could trade up to select one of the top quarterbacks in the draft. However, Paton also said that the team is "comfortable" with its current quarterback situation.
